Hyundai Service Intervals and Plans, Explained
The questions Hyundai owners ask us most: when the car is due, what the service plan covers, and what happens at a service.
When is my Hyundai due?
Most current Hyundai petrol cars sold in South Africa, including the i10, Grand i10, i20, Venue and Creta, are serviced every 15,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first.
Diesel, turbo and commercial models such as the Staria, H1 and H100 can run on different intervals, and older cars may differ again. We check your service book and VIN before we book, so the car gets the service it is actually due for.
Service plan or out of plan?
A Hyundai service plan is prepaid through the dealer network, so the services it covers are done at a Hyundai dealer. When the plan runs out, or for repairs and wear items the plan does not cover, we take over.
Servicing with us to Hyundai's schedule, with correct parts and a stamped book, keeps your manufacturer warranty valid under South Africa's right-to-repair guidelines.
What a Hyundai service includes
A minor service covers engine oil and filter, a check of all fluids, brakes, tyres, lights, wipers and battery, and a service-indicator reset.
A major service adds the items your mileage calls for, such as air and cabin filters, spark plugs, brake fluid and coolant. You get a quote before we start, and we phone you before doing anything extra.
H100 and Staria that work for a living
H100 bakkies and Staria and H1 people carriers cover big distances with heavy loads. On these we pay extra attention to the clutch, brakes, suspension bushes and the diesel fuel system, because that is where high-mileage wear shows first.
