Service A & Service B
Mercedes uses an A/B service scheme: Service A is the smaller interval service, Service B the larger one. We do both to Mercedes spec, with the correct oil, filters, fluids and inspection, and reset the service indicator.

What Service A and B mean, what to do about the auxiliary battery warning, and how often a C-Class really needs a service.
Service A and Service B, in plain terms
Your Mercedes tracks its own service needs with ASSYST and shows on the dash which service is due and when. Service A is the smaller service: oil and filter, fluid top-ups and a safety inspection. Service B is the bigger one: it adds the cabin filter, a deeper inspection and a reset of more systems.
The number after the letter, as in A2 or B3, adds extra jobs that fall due at that time, such as brake fluid, the air filter or spark plugs. We read the code from your car and quote exactly those jobs.

How often should a C-Class be serviced?
Most C-Class and GLC models ask for a service about once a year, or earlier if the ASSYST display calls for it first. Short trips, heat and stop-start traffic are hard on engine oil, so we do not recommend stretching past the date on the display even when the mileage is low.
The auxiliary battery malfunction warning
Many modern Mercedes-Benz models, including the C-Class, E-Class and GLC, carry a small second battery that keeps key systems powered when the engine stops. When it weakens, the dash shows "auxiliary battery malfunction" and the start-stop system usually stops working.
The car normally still drives, but the warning should not be ignored. We test the main battery and charging system first, because a tired main battery can trigger the same message, then fit the correct auxiliary battery and clear the fault.

There is no Mercedes-Benz dealer in Hermanus. Our Hermanus workshop handles Service A and B, diagnostics, auxiliary batteries, brakes and suspension, so Overberg owners do not have to drive to Cape Town for routine work.
