Charging System Check
Alternator output and voltage drop across the cables checked, so a new battery is not killed by the same fault that flattened the old one.
Correct Battery Fitted
The right size, capacity and type for your car, including AGM and EFB batteries for stop-start vehicles.
Battery Registration & Coding
On cars that need it, the new battery is registered to the vehicle so the charging system adjusts and the new battery lasts.
Parasitic Drain Diagnosis
A battery that goes flat overnight is measured for a drain, and the module or circuit keeping the car awake is found.

Car Battery Replacement - FAQs
How long does a car battery last?
Typically three to five years in South African conditions. Heat, short trips and stop-start systems all shorten that. A load test tells you where yours is.
Why does my new battery keep going flat?
Either something is draining it when the car is parked, or the alternator is not charging it properly. We measure both before replacing a battery, because a new battery does not fix either fault.
Does a new battery need to be coded to the car?
On many cars from about 2010 onwards, yes. The car's charging system tracks the battery's age and adjusts the charge. Skipping the registration overcharges the new battery and shortens its life.
Can you replace the auxiliary battery on a Mercedes-Benz?
Yes. The auxiliary battery malfunction message is a common Mercedes-Benz fault and the auxiliary battery or voltage converter is replaced at both branches.
What is the difference between AGM and a normal battery?
AGM and EFB batteries are built for stop-start systems that cycle the battery constantly. Fitting a normal battery to a stop-start car means it fails early. We fit the type the car specifies.
